Comparison from the Movie TANGLED TO REAL LIFE

Notes from Tangled

Life is a fairy tail, in everyone’s life. We are all born of the King.

In the beginning Rapunzle was bound to the wicked witch.

–       Just as we are bound to Satan in the beginning. Satan stole our right to be children of God. He keeps us locked up and ignorant as long as he can.

But then, prince charming comes alone.

–       Jesus came to save, rescue us from the evil liar, and return us back to royalty.

Rapunzle never gave up on her journey.

-Even though Satan’s lies, and obstacles that were sent her way still did not keep her from quitting and achieving her dream/Gods plan for her life.  It is important to have faith and never give up, keep on trying.

This life is a true fairy tail.

-In the end, good and evil will fight, and good will prevail till the end, and win! Although at times it seems as though we have lost, we need to remember always that the battle has already been won by the King.

Rupunzle changes the hearts of the scary men.

-A radiant childlike heart can soften the heart of man and cause him to open up.

Rupunzle’s childlike heart.

-It is important to have a child like heart and remember the important things in life. Don’t let the finer things in life get ahead of you. Rupunzle remained ignorant to the lusts of the world and looked at the deeper meanings in life.

The horse

-There will be helpers along the way that will be sent to you.

Rupunzles hair that glows and heals when she sings

-In the same way, when we worship the Father, His glory will shine through you and heal those who are in need. Shine your light.

The sun.

-The sun represents the Father and purple and gold represent royalty.

Opening up between Rapunzzle and Flin (Eugine)

-When you open up to someone you become vulnerable in getting hurt, but once you open up, the other person sees how you really are. They will be open with you and a true friendship can begin.

Being fooled at the end that Eugene had left her.

-The devil will always try to trick and fool you into something that is not true. Beware and stay firm to what you know is true that is hidden away in your heart. Do not be deceived!

In the end Eugine repented and his heart was softened.

-There are some people who may seem like bad people in the beginning, but true genuine love can break that and open up the truth to who they are; so they no longer have to live in a lie. Once they see how they truly are, they will repent and fall in love with LOVE (God).

In a way, I have always felt in me that I am living a fairy tail. In me, I have felt that this life has been one of the greatest stories of all time. I only say this because this is the story of God. We were born into royalty but Satan tried to snatch it away. The Prince of Peace, Jesus came to save and rescue us. If we take his hand and leave the tower we have been bound to, we can be free and united back with our Family. We are all born as royals, don’t let the witch fool you into thinking you need to stay alone in the castle.

I have also felt as though I was supposed to marry a king, or a prince. And he will choose me out of all of the other girls. My destiny has always had Royalty engraved in it.

The word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing (1 Corinthians 1:18)

Aka: the message of Jesus dying for your sins is foolishness to those who are on their way to hell!!!!!!!!!

“The natural man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14). So he is blind to the true significance of the gospel because he is spiritually dead—natural.

The other reason the gospel is foolishness to those who are perishing is that Satan works around the clock to prevent the Word of God from having any effect on the unbeliever’s heart. For example, in the parable of the four soils, he is pictured as a bird that snatches away seed before it can produce life. “When any one hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what is sown in his heart” (Matthew 13:19).

in other words, without a Savior, we were blinded by our own disease of sin AND by the work of Satan. So we were doubly blind and doubly in need of a Savior.

verse 3 Paul says that “we were by nature children of wrath.”

So it is God’s wrath that is coming. We were “by nature children of the wrath OF GOD.” Which means that we naturally did those things which God hates. By nature we rejected the knowledge of God (Romans 2:28), and by nature we refused the gospel (1 Corinthians 2:14), and by nature we were filled with desires that amounted to idolatry (Colossians 3:5).

If any one’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15)

How do u get in the book of life?

“Jesus Delivers from the Wrath to Come”

Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones died in 1981. He was a great preacher at the Westminster Chapel in London for 40 years. The year before his death when he was 81 years old, Christianity Today asked him, “Do you have any final word for our generation?” He answered simply by quoting 1 Thessalonians 1:10, “Jesus delivers us from the wrath to come.”

For behold, the Lord will come in fire,
and his chariots like the storm wind,
to render his anger in fury,
and his rebuke with flames of fire.
For by fire will the Lord execute judgment,
and by his sword, upon all flesh;
and those slain by the Lord shall be many.
(Isaiah 66:15–16)

But for now he is a Savior. Turn to him and be saved—from the sickness of sin, the captivity of Satan, and the sentence of hell. He alone is the way, the truth, and the life. There is no other name given among men by which you can be saved.

Isaiah 66:16 and wide is the gate that leads to hell.

Here I want to add that many will be deceived in the last days so it is important that we know the trust and follow the narrow path that leads to heaven. MANY WILL GO TO HELL.

Ephesians 2:8–10 (NIV)

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Titus 3:5–7 (NIV)

5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, …

“There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Since God raised Jesus of Nazareth from the dead and since God has made him head over all his house—over all the kingdom and all the redeemed—therefore Jesus is now the only way to heaven, and the confession of his name is the only hope of salvation from sin and judgment.

Peter says in Acts 10:43, “Every one who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

But that is not what Peter meant. Peter focused on the NAME of Jesus. “There is no other NAME under heaven by which we must be saved.” He is saying something more than that there is no other source of saving power that you can be saved by under some OTHER name. The point of saying, “There is no other NAME,” is that we are saved by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus. His name is our entrance into fellowship with God. The way of salvation by faith is a way that brings glory to the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is the focus of faith and repentance. In order to believe on Jesus for the forgiveness of sins, you must believe on his name. That is, you must have heard of him and know who he is as a particular man who did a particular saving work and rose from the dead.

The first reason we need a Savior is that without a Savior we are all dead in our trespasses and sins. Paul says this twice in the text. In verse 1 (literally): “You being dead in your trespasses and sins . . . ” Verse 5: “Even when we were dead in our trespasses . . . ”

“We were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.” In other words the things we have done to bring the wrath of God upon us we have done by nature. We need a Savior not just because we have sinned, but because we have sinned by nature. We are by nature sinners.

For whatsoever is not from faith is sin (Romans 14:23). And falling short of the glory of God is sin (Romans 3:23; 1 Corinthians 10:31). And therefore presuming to do good to men without pointing them to God is sin. All that any of us can do without a Savior is sin. For by nature we are spiritually dead. And until we are made alive by our Savior, nothing we do is spiritual, everything comes from the flesh. And therefore without a Savior all our so-called good deeds are rags and ashes.

Romans 3:9–12

What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all; for I have already charged that all men, both Jews and Greeks, are under the power of sin, as it is written: None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands, no one seeks for God. All have turned aside, together they have gone wrong; no one does good, not even one.

Without a Savior we are ruled by sin. We have no inclination to seek God. None of our deeds is good. All is the veiled expression of sin.

But what did Jesus think of this deadness? Was it excusable? In Matthew 23:27–28 he said, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.”

So here is an example of the “righteous” dead man. A man clean and religious on the outside—like a whitewashed casket in the county morgue—and inside rotten bones and filthiness and death. No, our deadness is not excusable in God’s sight. It is abominable. Our inability to submit to God and please God does not excuse us. The reason we can’t submit without a Savior is because we don’t want to. The power of our CANNOT is the depth of our WILL NOT.

He warns here in Matthew 23:27 that you can have your life squeaky clean on the outside and still be dead on the inside. We need a Savior not just to cap off our good deeds, not just to forgive our sins. We need a Savior because we are spiritually dead and helpless without him, no matter how good we look on the outside.

And finally the Lord encourages you who are still dead in your sins, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life; he does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. Truly, truly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live” (John 5:24–25).

Ephesians 2:1–3. We need a Savior according to verse 1 because we are dead in sin. We need a Savior according to verse 2 because we are captive to an alien power. And we need a Savior according to verse 3 because we are children of wrath.

If it helps your memory, we could say there are three “S’s”:

  1. we were sick unto death with sin;
  2. we were sabotaged by Satan;
  3. and we were sentenced to hell.

Therefore we were in desperate need of a great Savior.

that God sent his Son into the world to save us from our evil hearts of sin (Matthew 1:21),

Galatians 1:3, “Christ gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age.”

And in Colossians 1:13 he says that “God has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son.”

So God has indeed begun to save people from the power of darkness. At the cross the decisive death blow was struck against Satan (Colossians 2:15; Hebrews 2:14). “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). Nevertheless, the way of the cross is narrow and few there be that find it, and the way of Satan is broad and many there be that find it. By and large the world rejects the Savior. And without a Savior the prince of the power of the air reigns over the sons of disobedience. And people who were made for God are captive to an alien power.

n other words we need a Savior not just because we were dead in sin, but also because Satan stood watch to keep us dead.

It’s not enough to believe unless that believing results in an act of commitment to Christ that results in a changed life that bears fruit. That’s his whole point.

Eternity is a long time don’t u want to make sure u have got the right answer?

Isaiah 64.6 but we are all as an unclean thing, and all our richiousness are as filty rags.

Ephesians 2:8-9 by grace we are saved through faith, not of your own selves, it is the gift of God, not of God, lest any man should boast.

If we got into heaven by what we did  and not by what jesus did for us, we would brag about ourselves , instead of bragging about the guy with the nail pieced hands and feelt (jesus)

My 2 reasons:

Lets say your grandma decided to buy nice expensive leather shoes from one of the best designers. As your grandma is handing you the gift, you reach in your pocket and grab money to pay her for their gift that she bought u. What do you think her response would be? If you bought me a gift and I gave u money back for what u got me, would you be offended? Of course! In Ephesians 2:8-9 it says by grace we are saved through faith- it is the gift of GOD!

God gives u Jesus and in return u want to give him good works?!?!

Galations 2:21 states: For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing!”

Christ is the gift, if obtaining righteousness (getting into heaven) by our works and deeds then there is no point for Christ’s death and resurrection.

If you take a burnt cake and put white icing on it, how does it look? Sure it looks good- but when you take a bite out of it, how does it taste? Horrible!!!! Well, it is the same with good works: We try to look good on the ourside, but on the insdie we are nasty and horrible. –Dead in our sins We can’t merely cover our sin; it must be gotten rid of. Something must change on the inside out!

1st john 1:7 if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all our sin.”

John 1:9 says “ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.

The law

Romans 3:19-20

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

The law shows you that you are guilty before God. The law brings knowledge of sin, so to understand what sin is we need to know what the law is!

Psalm 19:7 says, “ The law of the Lord  is perfect, converting the soul.

John 3:4 says, for sin is transgression of the law.

Breaking the law is SIN. PERIOD.

Romans 7:7

What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”

This gives us a clue to what the Law IS! The 10 commandments!

“And God spoke all these words, saying: ‘I am the LORD your God…

ONE: ‘You shall have no other gods before Me.’

What is your primary focus in life? Is it money? Girls? Or is it God? When you go to sleep at night, what do you think about before bed? That is your God. Whatever your primary focus is.

TWO: ‘You shall not make for yourself a carved image–any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.’

People usually do this and make an idol not by worshiping a golden calf in today’s world but they create a god that fits their own image. If you think that God will accept good works and a result to your salvation, you are creating your own god. And anytime it is not the real God you are actually worshiping the God of this world. 2 Corinthians 4:4 says Satan is the god of this world.

THREE: ‘You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.’

Isn’t weird that we use the most HOLY name EVER as a curse word?!?! We never say oh my Budah, or Mohamed!

FOUR: ‘Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.’

No matter what you consider as the Sabbath, you have broken it and so has everyone else. How often you respect God and go to his house ever Sunday?

FIVE: ‘Honor your father and your mother.’

-Self explanatory, all of us our guilty on this one.

SIX: ‘You shall not murder.’

Hating or being angry at someone is murder (Mathew 5:21-22) He judges the inside of our hearts as well as the outside.

SEVEN: ‘You shall not commit adultery.’

(Mathew 5:27-28) eve looking with lust at someone else you have committed adultery in your heat.

EIGHT: ‘You shall not steal.’

NINE: ‘You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.’

God doesn’t care about the color of your lies, weather are white or not- they are lies in his eyes.

All liars will have their part in the lake of fire. – Revelation 21:8

If you have told ONE lie- what does that make you?? I liar!!!!

YOU NEED TO BE SAVED FROM THE LAKE OF FIRE!

TEN: ‘You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.’

We covet before we steal; we covet before we commit adultery. Coveting opens up the floodgates of sin.

Romans 10:9-10

For God so loved the world that he sent his only son to save u.
